The Wishaw YMCA is an inclusive organisation, open to all. We work to transform lives by empowering people to create positive change within themselves and within their communities. We aim to provide support & encouragement without judgment or prejudice.
Wishaw YMCA opened in 1914 with a focus on helping young men to be healthy in mind, body, & spirt through program delivery & mentorship.
Through the years, this mission expanded to encompass the community as a whole. This approach to community service remains at the heart of Wishaw YMCA programs even today.
Unfortunately, the Wishaw YMCA building fell into disrepair and consequently closed. Covid-19 lockdowns further delayed progress.
Late Spring 2021, volunteers agreed a way forward.
Project Revive is an initiative to revive our presence within the community & restore our historic building. Our long history at the heart of the community inspires & motivates our volunteers.
Our ultimate goal is to continue the work started in 1914 to the benefit of future generations through our work in the community and the restoration of the Wishaw YMCA building.
The Wishaw YMCA building is a stunning piece of historical architecture that will be an asset to our organisation and to the community. The plans for repairs & renovations are on display at our Wishaw YMCA Project Revive office at
210 Main Street, Wishaw.
